      Pros

      Great experience w/ staff at local school level.

      Cons

      At the county level, the Fulton County School system is a disaster. Sent me someone else's contract, SS#, address, retirement plan docs etc along w/ mine. When called to have it fixed, sent me another copy of the other teacher. Serious concern that they may have teacher ID stolen. When contacted the Fulton County, told me it was b/c they moved to a new system. Really? Why hire tech pple. Poor bereavement days. Have to go back to work and I haven't even buried my love one.

      Pros

      Pay compensation good. Paid for degree held if in area of critical need. Vacation time and holiday good as well as job benefits.

      Cons

      Got to watch your back. Supervisors not as competent as in the past. Insecurities lead to knit picking tendencies. Tenure and loyalty has no value in the new regime.

      I worked with great people and loved teaching kids. Having summers off was definitely a plus.

      Cons

      As usual, low pay for all teachers do. Too much emphasis on testing and test scores at this point.
