good benefits - great teachers to work with Great breaks - Summers etc...

Cons

long hours - I worked an average of 65 hours per week - The average corporate job does 2200 hours per year - the average teacher with the breaks does 2470 Constantly changing leadership with limited experience in the classroom.

Great opportunity disguised in failing school system

Pros

I love working as a Substitute Teacher in regards to the flexibility to choose my own days to work, and even hours most days. The pay increase for substituting for teachers is a great incentive to work.

Cons

You can only work a certain amount of days in the month. The substituting for assistant teacher's pay is not up to par with the amount of work you will have to do. The entire school system is crumbling and I have YET to met one teacher that is not considering moving to another school system or retiring from teaching all together.
