Pros

Lots of time off. If your principal is good then working conditions are reasonable. Students for the most part are engaged in learning.

Cons

All of the initiatives pushed by the county are overwhelming. Constantly changing reading and math curriculums. Teachers are not given time to become proficient in a curriculum before it is changed yet again.

Be aware of red flags!

Pros

Decent pension plan and vacation days.

Cons

The organizational structure is in complete disorder, including antiquated system applications and extreme dysfunction regarding accountability for projects that involve multiple teams and departments. Training is either limited or non-existent. There is a toxic environment of reverse racism at the admin building, which leads to negative gossip, workplace bullying, and a high school mentality towards specific employees.

Very Disappointing

Pros

Most Co-Workers were very nice and helpful. Kids and Parents were very nice.

Cons

Administration was horrible. I was a teacher for 10+ years, moved to GA and started at a Fulton County School. It was the worst experience of my life. The amount if unnecessary administrative and redundant paperwork took away from the teachers doing what they needed to do to properly teach the children. The teachers are severely overworked, stressed, pressed for time, and miserable. I love teaching and am a great teacher, but I left profession to pursue a new career. It saddens me because there are so many good teachers who were miserable.
