Pros

If I can find any it would be the PTO policy.

Cons

Management doesn’t care about the employees. Systems are horrible. Management doesn’t have a clue and constantly has to put out fires. This is the worse company I ever worked for.

Hey, you know what? Every system has room for improvement. Ours are no different. And while I certainly wouldn’t describe anything about our work environment as being “on fire” we have a leadership team that is passionate about making sure everyone is happy doing their part in moving all of us forward as a company. While it’s a shame we weren’t able to find an ideal solution for your contributions, thanks for complimenting our PTO policies. When you combine that with our many other benefits, I’d like to think we offer a pretty sweet place to be the best version of you.

The work can be fun but very little sense of security

Pros

The tech and music brands get to work with some cool stuff and gadgets you'd normally never have yourself Unlimited PTO policy Possibility of travel

Cons

Company policy doesn't allow merit-based raises, only annual cost-of-living / inflation pay increases every year. The only way to get a real raise is to get a promotion or change job position and job title. The company seems in constant flux from all the acquisitions and all the restructuring can be unsettling. Each buy out means the new people might be laid off, might replace the existing employees, or all of them get crammed in the same office. Lots of offices scattered across lots of time zones. Nearly all communication is done over email. Response time is usually slow because of the time differences.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of Future plc. We believe that all employees row the boat and we are very proud of our profit pool scheme which allows us to reward staff for their contribution to the business. We deliberately ensure that our targets are very clear so there is no ambiguity around this. Part of our business strategy is to grow via acquisition, which we realise means regular change - we recognise that this can be unsettling for employees. Throughout acquisition processes we try to provide as much clarity as possible to the business but encourage a business as usual approach. We value our employees greatly and want everyone to feel secure in their roles here. Pros

Since the management structure is so thin -- as are all levels of the company -- you'll have plenty of chances to put your own ideas into practice (if you can find time to do so), since there are few managers from which you'll need approval. There are many, many talented people to work with -- but since everyone is working at 150% capacity, you'll not have much time to get much benefit from their smarts. The benefits package is flat-out astonishing; the fact that Future US is owned by a European company shows -- in Europe, health care is a right, not a privilege

Cons

The workload is crushing. Not that hard work is a bad thing, but the amount of output that management demands from each employee at Future US dulls creativity and quality. In point of fact, "quality" is not something that management cares about all that much. The general attitude that the Future US management has towards its readership is that readers are basically sheep that want -- or even need -- to be snowed by flashy, shallow coverage of trends and "shiny things." As a result, most Future US properties have become formulaic -- which is actually okay for the workers, since they're working so hard that they don't have the time or the mental energy to think of anything original.
