      Overworked and Underpaid

      Pros

      I have unlimited PTO and ok insurance. Mildly flexible hours. Coworkers are great.

      Cons

      Constant conveyor belt deadlines and urgent work coming in unexpectedly. Understaffed teams in most departments. Lack of understanding surrounding teams' work processes and needs, The C level does not know what you do or how you provide value to the company. They do not care about their employees in any meaningful way; taking us from hourly with OT to salaried (I make less than I did 2 years ago even with an inflationary adjustment because of the loss of OT), closing the US offices after just opening one of them 7 months prior and having people relocate to that area to work in said office, and creating new positions to take on 20% of the work of your position at a pay 20% higher. Unclear work expectations and gaps in training. There is little room for advancement since various positions are spread across the globe.

      No upward mobility (for most)

      Pros

      Great people, unlimited PTO, decent benefits. I honestly loved my coworkers and the brands I worked on, which kept me going at the company.

      Cons

      There was basically no growth potential for most employees, especially if you're based in the US. A handful of people in the UK get promoted - and those same people got promoted 3+ times in my 2 years at the company - but there's no upward mobility for most, even if you have double the experience as the people getting promoted all the time.

      Massive company with lots of moving parts.

      Pros

      Future is too big to fail. They've acquired so many media companies that they have cushioned themselves against global recession.

      Cons

      It's so big that often the layman voices are not heard. There are no annual performance reviews, eliminating opportunities for raises, there is no budget for higher training for many teams, and when colleagues depart there is no movement to hire new employees to cover the workload, it is simply distributed to the remaining employees. Also there is little to no upward mobility.
