The work culture here is deeply unhealthy. “Voluntary” overtime is expected at night and on almost every Saturday — sometimes even Sundays — with no pay or time off in return. Employees are often told to handle random tasks far outside their job scope, and there’s no union protection or meaningful HR support. Verbal abuse and discrimination happen regularly, and ER turns a blind eye. There is no training, no clear career path. The only thing you'll learn is how to dodge responsibility better than the next person. The turnover rate is alarmingly high — stay for a year, and most of your coworkers will be gone. Many managers come from overseas and struggle with English, creating major communication barriers. Ironically, non-Chinese speakers sometimes fare better because management avoids difficult conversations in English. Many employees stay only because of visa sponsorships. Otherwise, no one would tolerate this environment for long.
