Pros

Free uniforms is the only perk. Everything varies based upon what site you work at. Some are good, some are not. Some will give you lots of OT, some sites force you to work OT, some sites don't let you work any OT. It's all a matter of perspective whether that is a pro or a con.

Cons

The corporation is the worst company I have ever worked for. They do not care about their employees. They lack ethics. You cannot depend on the branch office to do their part. They are selfish, corrupt, break the law & get away with it due to their size & lawyers. Do not trust them. Luckily, you don't have to deal with them a whole lot unless there is a problem. Site management is who you deal with mostly.

A lot of the security officers that were hired were very hard working individuals with a good work ethic.

Cons

The upper level management was concerned with their pocket book and took whatever measure it took, most of the time unethical, to trim costs. The people who suffer and who work long hours are those in the middle and at the bottom of the food chain. There is little if any respect for an individuals work/life balance.

Pros

I had a great time on site as an armed healthcare security officer. Decent pay, plenty of overtime, and opportunity for advancement.

Cons

There was plenty of overtime because the turnover was high; my first 5 months saw 6 people hired and 7 quit. Advancement happens for the same reason: as long as you don't quit, you'll get promoted soon enough. The site was great, but the company was nothing more than a hive of thieves. Pay was decent, when it came through correctly. Most people had mistakes on their checks every 3 or 4 pay periods, at latest. They refused to pay travel fees, or for anything else.
