Configuration Management in Manufacturing
Pros
Great experience working in a manufacturing and development environment. Overall, a very good company to work for. The company provided the 400+ employees who were laid off a very generous severance package. Our team had a monthly off-site events to promote comradery.
Cons
Senior leadership made some gross errors in negotiating a deal that allowed an investor to back out of a $400M deal. Leadership committed these funds and then had to find ways to make up this shortfall. As a result 400+ employees lost their jobs. I left the government contractor sector (and my high level security clearance) because GE told me that they had at least 10 years of work to keep the programs busy. My security clearance has lapsed and I cannot compete for these jobs any longer.
