We are glad to hear that you enjoyed working with your colleagues while at GEI. We’re disappointed to hear that you found field work “awful, dirty, and disgusting.” Field work is an invaluable part of learning how to be a great consultant. We don’t believe there is any substitute to getting out and working alongside clients, colleagues, contractors and subcontractors in a hands-on way, to learn how to apply the knowledge learned during your formal education. We continue to consistently see that our most valuable and successful professionals have spent significant time in the field throughout their career. Work-life balance is important to everyone at GEI and we focus on cultivating a culture where employees are empowered to take ownership of their career and schedules. We offer a hybrid work schedule which allows employees to work with their supervisors to determine a schedule that is flexible and supports professional development and collaboration.

We are glad to hear that while at GEI you had the opportunity to work on complex and interesting projects. We agree, learning from engaging client work is the best way to learn and grow. We strive to provide a culture rich with collaboration that is vibrant and supportive of our clients and one another. It is not our experience that favoritism is an issue and we hope that you reported any issues while at GEI. If not, we invite you to still report the issue to your former Branch or Regional Operations Manager so it can be reviewed and addressed, as appropriate. We continue to offer a hybrid work schedule to support employees with in person collaboration time in the office and time to work remote to support work-life balance. It is important to us to balance time working in synergy with one another in support of our clients while also supporting flexibility for our professionals.
