Pros

Decent pay for the industry and we used to have job security and good benefits.

Cons

There is no job security and they no longer treat you like a person, you are just a number. Mass layoffs in multiple rounds (so you never know if you are safe) over the span of almost a year. Terminations for little to no reason. Benefits have been stripped down to almost nothing but management tries to say they are better. Overall, I loved my job for 14 years, the last two years have been absolute hell with constant fear for my job regardless of my performance and unrealistic goals and expectations with no real reason for the changes.

Pros

Personally, I was a twenty-something fresh out of college working three BS part-time jobs to get by and they gave me an opportunity for a career. I will always be grateful for them giving me a path. Benefits were decent, and so was profit sharing. However, profit sharing officially got canceled so there goes that.

Cons

I got to a point where I was drinking myself into oblivion every night to forget that I had to wake up and do this job again and again and again. It took therapy and months of medication to finally realize that I needed to take the risk of moving on. The stress suffocates you, you are everyone’s enemy, and you are micromanaged beyond belief. It takes a very special/psychopathic breed to endure this for more than a few years, somehow I got to 5. The specific list of cons won’t hold any meaning to someone just casually looking over reviews before applying to this company, but for all current employees suffering and on the edge, they understand. Get in and get out. I did, and it is so unbelievably better.

Pros

Good benefits, good pay, that’s it.

Cons

I’ve worked at Geico for significantly more than 5 years. Company culture has shifted dramatically in the past two. There is NO work life balance anymore, the company has /spectacularly/ mismanaged entering the WFH and virtual adjusting realm. Even as an employee if I need to talk to a person in another department I’m regularly on hold for 15-45 minutes. I used to enjoy this job but it’s turned into a nightmare. Metrics are a constantly shifting moving target. Workloads are unreasonable and often you aren’t fairly compensated for OT. It’s extremely suspicious that there are so many, recent, very short 5 star reviews.
