Pros

Great team members( not management ) Good learning environment

Cons

Management, absolute abuse, horrific management of the IT team. Issues swept under the rug all the time. What a horrible to place to work. Talentless leafs drive their workers to the brink of quitting and I am one of them. Now, a successful professional at a different company, I am grateful that I escaped when I did. IT professionals be ware.

Pros

The pay was competitive, the health insurance plans offered were reasonable and I loved that they offered employee resource groups and volunteer time you could take off the phone that were paid hours, it was the first and only company I’ve ever worked for that offers this aside from typical benefits like 401k and tuition reimbursement. Also I’d say culture of MOAT most of the co workers I had come in contact with were always nice and most (not all but most) of the superiors were also supportive and kind.

Cons

My biggest con is being laid off, with little to warning. The first and only job I’ve experienced this with. Lordy imagine waking up for work only for them to call you to not come in. To be fair I will say there was an easing out of the position it wasn’t you’re just dropped no income same day but the statement of we don’t do layoffs is completely false. It not only leaves a bad taste in an employees mouth, not really ever wanting to work for you again but also not do business with you as a service provider as well. To terminate the position of thousands, then to add insult to injury to then having hiring ads out for same roles now in office rather than hybrid at a lower pay price should really be illegal, highly unethical. Ironically one of the pillars taught in training. So job security is the biggest con but the remaining are mentioned quite a-bit already: the goals are constantly changing and there’s always more required of you. Unless you’re covered under FMLA , your sick time and vacation cut into metrics, so even if you went on vacation for a week or two you are still expected to hit full goal of a month - which infringes on your work life balance cause you’re always worried about if you’re meeting all of your goals when you’re off you should be worried about feeling better or enjoying your time requested and approved off.

Pros

Generally higher starting pay than other insurance companies. Offices located all over the country so have the ability to move around. You'll get a paycheck but no profit sharing or pension.

Cons

New upper management destroyed corporate culture and have made it a toxic workplace. Slowly phasing out WFH, by next year they will want all employees in office 100%. After many rounds of layoffs a lot of the best employees are gone and the ones that survived are looking for new jobs. You'll get a steady paycheck, but that's it. Not worth the stress and headache. Would NOT recommend. STAY AWAY from Geico unless you have no other options.
