Pros

You can make some good friends that help you deal with working here. Not one pro comes to mind.

Cons

They are highly against working from home and are doing everything possible to get us sent back. The pay is not great compared to other companies. They decreased the pay scales vs giving a cost of living increase. Profit sharing is gone. In its place was a 1 time chance for an up to 10% raise which obviously didn't seem to happen. Their health insures has steadily declined over the years. Lots of out of pocket expenses. They set unrealistic goals to basically set you up to fail. So you can go back to the office or to get tenured employees to leave since they pay them more than Geico would like. They could absolutely care less about you as an employee and much less as a person. Not one thing comes to mind that would have me referring anyone. The company is a sinking ship. They refuse to make any changes that would make their employees happy. They say things that would imply they are making positive changes but they always come back with changes that only make things worse. It's honestly like being in an abusive relationship you just can't seem to walk away from. So many employees have left saying it was the best decision they ever made and they are treated far better at other insurance companies.

Pros

Great place to gain experience in the field and take that experience and go elsewhere and make $10k plus more a year. The metrics- some say they are hard to obtain but I believe they were pretty easy. Can work from home some, depends if they like you or not lol.

Cons

Even with A+ scores you can and will be fired if you have a manager out for you, file for FMLA, or have an ill-equipt supervisor. In salvage you have to make 1k plus payments a year. Now the system states there is a process that they take to fire you ... Some mistakes move you forward in the corrective action policy others don't. But if you file for FMLA or something else occurs they can and WILL go back in time and find something you did that wasn't a problem then and make it the reason for firing you. It's nasty, sneaky and illegal. I thought Geico was amazing hands down... But landed myself with a new to the floor sup trying to prove something to management instead of teach her people ... And I left.

Pros

Decent hourly pay, though not especially competitive Nice coworkers, depending on your department Paid training with covered exam fees- the biggest takeaway

Cons

Limited bathroom access (trainer told me GEICO is exempt from OSHA and suggested I buy a wireless headset so I can take calls while using the bathroom), misleading and manipulative promises setting false expectations (bonuses that nobody received, profit sharing that was promised but then revoked, schedule changes that were promised but then revoked, pay increases that never happened, etc), unreasonable and unfair workload expectations (within the same pay grade, some employees expected to take 1 call every 1-3 hours while others take nonstop calls back-to-back without additional compensation), uncomfortable facilities (unreasonable temperature variance day-to-day resulting in constant discomfort), negative work environment (coaches shouting at reps, physically grabbing and shaking employees by shoulders, obvious gaslighting behaviors), benefits that can't be used (employees were promised 3 free mental health counseling sessions per calendar year, but I can attest that these sessions were never available and I was told they would not be available for at least several more months), no exit interview- I was told I couldn't say goodbye to my team after I resigned, never spoke with management, and was told by HR that I could take a virtual exit interview online, which I never received.
