Pros

If you've been with the company for a while the pay is competitive When I first started this used to be a great company to work for that cared about it's employees

Cons

I would not recommend anyone new to join this company They took away profit share, biannual merit increase reviews, overtime opportunities, chairmans club (rewards for top performers) stopped doing Christmas party outings and had layoffs while at the same time announcing their increased productivity expectations while paying us less money (more work for less pay).... then shamelessly announced their BILLIONS IN PROFIT this QUARTER...... They then announce the 6% 401k match (gee thanks a tax deductible contribution for the company when our profit share was TRIPLE that almost every year) They will spend money creating new systems to micromanage their employees but refuse to fix the systems that we've been begging them to fix that are ruining our efficiencies

Pros

The pay is decent but they just let go of majority of the building to hire in employees to do the same thing for less pay so I don't know if this a pro anymore

Cons

My experience at Geico was overwhelmingly negative due to the toxic work environment. From management to call agents, the atmosphere was filled with a palpable sense of unhappiness. The turnover rate is alarmingly high, and it’s easy to see why. Management is overly critical, and the office culture resembles a “crabs in a bucket” mentality, where everyone is constantly pulling each other down. The expectations placed on employees are unreasonable and change so frequently that it becomes nearly impossible to keep up. It’s as if the requirements are shifting every other week, making it difficult to achieve the goals set out. This lack of stability creates a stressful and frustrating work environment. On top of that, the office drama is out of control. In the past year alone, there have been multiple physical altercations, and the atmosphere feels more like high school than a professional workplace. Gossip and petty behavior are rampant, leading to a toxic culture that is completely unprofessional. Overall, I would not recommend working at Geico. If you’re looking for a positive, supportive work environment, you might want to look elsewhere.

Pros

Good pay. Nice facility. Good training. They were happy to have me onboard.

Cons

If you don't cross every T and dot every i, you're in trouble. Every detail with which you are trained has to come through on every call. My supervisor would regularly listen to many of my calls and find every exacting mistake I made on the calls even though my sales were constantly and gradually improving. She would warn me that I could be fired and asked me on a regular basis: "Do you not want to be here? Do you want to quit?" They fired me after I started getting up to 8 and 9 sales per day there. When I went to apply for unemployment, I was turned down because Geico had told the state employment commission that I had been dismissed for misconduct because I had violated company rules or policies. At the same time, they were hiring new agents at (I heard) lower wages. Even some of the top agents in the company were concerned about losing their jobs and were looking elsewhere.
