Pros

They pay is decent and working hybrid. Was better when I was not forced into the office.

Cons

When I started I was in ICS and worked my way up. The company was really good before TC started doing all his horrible changes. Which then trickled down to management. Originally us casualty were okay to stay remote but then now we have to go into the office 4x a month for “culture”. Our benefits got changed from United to Cigna which now costs me way more than I used to pay in health care all together. Also here as time as passed we keep getting emails about new changes being implemented which is practically micromanagement. They have started implementing higher metrics and if you don’t get these metrics you could be “fired”. Then while adding you have to absurd high answer rate. You have to put in all the templates for everything you do or you can get dinged for proper procedure. Don’t forget you have to settle a x amount of cases too which resets every 6 months too and you have to re obtain that same number. Doesn’t matter if I got double the number the first six months I could still get fired if I don’t obtain the required number. Also while having to answer high rate, put in templates, when you ask for auth from manager what used to be an IM you have to now meet with them to discuss and they have to put some synopsis in notes why you want this number. Oh and ontop of that to add icing to all this you are handling demands that have specific due dates you have to answer it and address all the conditions. While trying do obtain and keep those metrics for all the above. I used to feel trusted with my job. But I come in hating it everyday because I feel like I am being micromanaged, controlled and the templates are outright stupid. Also it adds unreasonable amount of work which used to take minutes now can take hours due to the rigorous hoops I have to jump through. My own supervisor cannot even address anything on her desktop and is so behind because of all the changes. She is always in meetings 3x a week due to all the changes being made at the company alone. That alone affects the team as well which affects how well I can do my own job and my teammates job. Then to top it off they did massive layoffs which TC completely killed the company morale in one day. I’m sure because of what he did many more people are going to quit and are now unhappy.

Pros

You get a paycheck. There are a few people mostly your teammates that are kind.

Cons

You will work way over your scheduled hours (unpaid becauseyou are salary). If you are good at your job or the most tenured you will be asked to help others which would normally be ok except the fact that you are essentially hurting yourself because you are being ranked against them and since you're doing their job you are competing against yourself not being credited for the work you've done. The metrics are not consistent and some activities you don't get credit for even though they are often very time consuming. Management will break their promises and they say that "help is on the way" when in fact help is never coming. No work/life balance. Impossible expectations from management. No job security (I believe even the Gecko is no longer safe).

Pros

You can hopefully use your experience to get a new career with a better company

Cons

All employee and beneficiary information including dates of birth and social security numbers, including my children’s info, was stolen and now resides on the dark web. Happened in June and GEICO did not tell the employees until yesterday. Unacceptable! People are dropping like flies with no replacements, work is heaped upon those who have remained loyal. No promotions since early 2022 and none coming. Took away bonuses and profit sharing. Switched to high deductible health insurance. Only things increased are the workload, micromanagement and negative feedback—constantly.
