Pros

Not really sure if there’s any. They constantly order food for everyone?

Cons

I heard it used to be a decent company until they “restructured”. LOW pay especially for this economy and the amount of work they want you to put in. You even have to do your coworker’s work even though you’re in a “competition” with them. (Metrics) (Rankings) You must answer others calls and even help do their work if you finished yours. That helps them with their number so I’m not sure how that makes sense. You have to correct other departments mistakes, who make way more. No accountability. Over worked and underpaid. Promises on top of promises about things changing. No real recognition for being in the top quartile which I was. HIGH turnover. They might want to look into why that is. Was there a year and saw at least 10 people go. Hurricane came and they tried to make you use your own time or LWOP as if it wasn’t an uncontrollable natural disaster. Ceiling had water damage that destroyed my desk, open ceiling, possible mold and they made us come into office. Not sure how safe that was. In my opinion, they don’t care about their employees, only the money you can bring in. I will say there were some decent supervisors but overall I do not recommend.

Pros

The software they use is very efficient

Cons

Main metrics used to determine your job security are upselling renters/homeowners policies, and survey results (only “excellent” surveys count). It’s unfair that my job security depended on how many times I said “excellent” during a call in the hopes that the customer would rate me excellent. Most of the time, a “very good” was sufficient seeing as most of the customers were calling about the ridiculous increase in their rates, nothing to do with the associate. Also, this is customer service, not sales. Why does my job hinge on how many people I can get to follow through with getting additional products? Especially if I did everything in my power to get them to accept a quote and transfer the call only for the other department to drop the ball somehow. How does that count against ME???

Pros

GEICO used to be great 16 years ago when I started. But after George Rogers retired, the company went to hell in a handbasket. There are no longer any pro's

Cons

We no longer value employees as humans. Employees are just a number and our mission is to turn and burn through people as we see fit. We overload people with an impossible workload and then fire them for falling behind and then pass those files that are behind to other adjusters just to repeat the cycle. We used to rent out Cypress Gardens for family day, we use to have profit sharing and good benefits. And now all of that is gone. There is no longer any reason to be proud here.
