Pros

+ some of the best middle management I've ever worked with + 6 month performance appraisals cycle (if your management is good with giving feedback and you do well, this means feedback + raise 2x a year) + pretty good work life balance, you know when/why you're working OT and it doesnt happen too often + as a newer employee management + senior members really care about developing/training you

Cons

- many in the VP and up level talk about how tech is important and getting 'up to speed' is important without understanding what they currently have - huge overall push to "move faster" with the same amount or less employees by upper management, without understanding how much goes into "keeping the lights on" in some depts more than others - no RTO plan and updates come less than a month out from the given date. overall "hardline" message about RTO

Pros

I have been with Geico almost one year now, hired in as a CSR so it was taking new claims and answering inquiry calls all day. It was not bad work, kind of tedious but I made sure to get numbers and at 6 months I interviewed and got promoted. Opportunity is there but it is not handed out, got all the support in the world from current supervisor and former training staff.

Cons

Days can be long, at times you feel like a glorified secretary but that being said, all jobs have their cons, this is one of the few "big name" companies that does stick to the idea of you control your own fate. If I wanted to stay at CSR and just get a paycheck, I could. If I want to promote and lean more, I can. If I want to go back to school to be eligible to be a supervisor, I can, and Geico will pay for it. So, cons are what you make them, what negatives you choose to focus on. If you don't want to work or put in basic effort though, this is not the job for you.
