Pros

Great local team and local manager. All valiant people. Only positive things to say. GFL corp is another matter.

Cons

Seasonal slowdown turning winter layoff makes the pay uncompetitive, Local management can't do a thing about it, and upper management lack any perspective since their motto is "we're in for profit" (just not yours, my fellow worker/drivers). These practices let you navigate your finance by the day. It makes GFL offers (unrealistic and unattainable b/c they work for you not to reach them like 150% your pay rate above 40 hours ~ be certain you'll be stuck at 32 average). It's fake incentive and would, in time, be condemn. Same with the 40h negotiated that transforms on paper in an "40h of work average" allowing to go as low as 20 hours a week. Entreprise fails to find ways to make its employees work year long on a 40h minimum schedule. You'll end up at 30 hours average. Because of this, the drivers turnover rate is through the roof They don't train you, as a driver, to get more experience nor propose you challenges either. Here, your carrier will not stagnate, it will regress. The upper management will thank you for your efforts, yet will failed to reward them, They just are in for the profit, just not for yours In the end, GFL Environmental is killing its driver pool base, and maybe more types employees with it. One of the two worst score on Indeed...

Pros

The pay and benefits are pretty decent.

Cons

The sales manager is inadequate. He knows nothing about sales and is only interested in data. Hes arrogant and not helpful in any way. He doesnt train new employees. He ties up hours of valuable time with pointless meetings, asking each person what their favorite food, sports team, color, etc... He also is a fanatic about Sales Force & Wishes, which is fine, but he leaves little time to get out and actually sell. He has lied so many times to get what he wants accomplished and never once made good on any of them. GFL will take and take and take from their employees until they use you up and then they bring in other new people to repeat this on until they use them up. NOBODY leaves here better off. If you stay, you will be sucked dry and have no personal life. I've seen it happen time and time again.
