Pros

Friendly reception area with fun signs saying which way to the beach etc Close proximity to home. Large lunch room.

Cons

I was hired for A/R position. Made me spend a day with driver picking up used oil at Lube businesses etc. First day in office, they did not have a place for me to work. they did not do any training. You were encouraged not to take breaks. No coffee breaks but made you take a lunch break. I was given a task which I completed on my own by trial and error without any instruction while the other girls in office continued to chat about their new jeans they bought etc, There was another girl working her butt off and no one spoke to her and when I tried to speak to her she was very skitterish. She later confided in me that every day she came to work she was nervous about getting fired. The management there is very condescending, micro managing and like to spend more time making sure you don't go a minute over your break time than to come and see how you are doing and if you need any assistance. A lot of the upper mgmt. also bring their religion into the workplace which is very unsettling. I tried very hard and am very good at what I do, but they just didn't like me I guess and let me go after 3 days, Worst place I have ever worked at,

Pros

Benefits were alright. Opportunity to learn a lot since you'll often get to do work on something outside of ur job description

Cons

Low salary Non-friendly culture Underpaid employees A lot of favoritism - under the same situation, one employee was accomodated, appreciated and cared for and another one equally hardworking and sincere was let go. Very insecure. People fired all the time with no warning. Poor work life balance - every one at the company would agree to this one

Pros

NOTHING- GFL Environmental is one of the most toxic workplaces I have experienced. The culture is sexist, the environment is hostile, and leadership does nothing to support inclusion or fairness. Their DEIB statements are performative at best, clearly in place to check a box or avoid legal consequences. There is no genuine commitment to equity or respect.

Cons

The leadership team is disconnected, unapproachable, and in many cases, openly discriminatory. Bullying is brushed aside, and discrimination is not only tolerated but often enabled by those in charge. There is no accountability, and raising concerns can make you a target. There are little to no opportunities for growth. The focus is on control, not development. Morale is low, and trust in leadership is even lower. If you value a healthy, respectful workplace where you can grow and feel safe, GFL is not the place.
