Pros

Free Lunches, lots of brown bag events, snacks, well stocked pantry, good benefits,

Cons

The MDs tends to be self serving, frequent dept restructuring, work culture sucks as people tend to be uncooperative and managers simply agree to what the management wants and just push workload and issues to ground staff to handle and resolve

Pros

Good level of autonomy, even for junior staff. Company does try to constantly improve welfare and benefits for its employees through policies. Great working space. Collegiate environment, especially within the context of the financial industry.

Cons

Evident group of very disgruntled employees perpetuating negativity. Instead of fingerpointing and blaming, what helps would be to try and solve the issues together. To step up and be the change you want to see.

Has gotten progressively worse in the past 5 years

Pros

Quality of investment professionals are above the industry average Work is meaningful as monies go towards the government budget

Cons

Underperformance is tolerated for too long e.g. you can post negative investment returns for 3 - 5 years and no action will be taken. You will continue to be paid a bonus, which is subsidized by your friendly outperforming colleagues. Very high turnover in mid and back office Company is increasingly concerned with “image” rather than investment returns
