Pros

Strong culture of growth; deep sense of team; lots of interesting, creative, funny people; flexible scheduling; casual dress code; downtown office; VPN available when needed; ability to try different roles; promoting from within is preferred; focus on strengths, not weaknesses; friends and family are welcome at the many company-sponsored activities; manage our own time; attitude and aptitude often trump knowledge and experience; it's okay to not know everything; hourly and salaried positions; cash incentives for quick, accurate work; management is approachable and responsive; Friday Breakfast Club; gym access; suggesting areas for improvement is encouraged; free hot beverages; very supportive colleagues and coworkers; lots of smiles and laughter; strong focus on clear, effective communication, including active listening; ideas are encouraged and met with enthusiasm; successes are celebrated; culturally diverse workforce; snack while you work; wander around and stretch or chat when you need a break; lots of nearby places to eat... There's probably more perks, but I think you get the idea.

Cons

Training focuses on a dive-in method, but does not provide a solid foundation from which to jump. Benefits are a bit behind industry standard. No cold beverages such as Red Bull, Gatorade, V8, or fruit juices.

Pros

Compensation was based on my individual performance. Most employees worked about 44 hours a week, which was not too bad compared to other tech companies. My manager cared about my success.

Cons

Hours were sometimes variable. There were times I had to work on weekends without much notice -- especially around big deadlines. But, that seemed to be calming down when I left.

A great place to challenge yourself

Pros

There are lots of opportunities for personal challenge and growth. The company invests in tools and programs to encourage personal growth, but then also encourages people to take ownership of their own professional and personal growth. There are lots of opportunities to try new positions, so you'll never get bored. The culture and values are sincere, and there's a lot of effort put in to ensure that the right people stay and the wrong people go. Honesty and openness are expected of everyone, so the office politics that exist at most places are completely counter-cultural here. People genuinely care about each other. The compensation intentionally rewards those who are quick and produce high quality work, so working hard and building your skills helps you earn more than you'd earn doing a similar job somewhere else. Schedules are in-line with the IT industry, so while it's not a 40-hour-per-week job, it's normal to have some weeks that are more than 40 and some that are less.

Cons

Training is pretty self-directed and dependent upon the individual.
