Pros

-Amazing triple bottom line mission -Great work culture with warm and welcoming people -Generous benefits (including five weeks of paid time off) -Competitive pay for a nonprofit -Lots of growth opportunities -Focus on equity and inclusion both internally and externally -Welcoming for families/parents

Cons

For better and for worse, GRID is often building the car while we drive it. This makes it a dynamic and nimble workplace, but does mean that systems/structure can be a little de-prioritized. If you want to work in a high-growth organization, be prepared for the challenges that come with the opportunities. It's also easy to work too much when you are passionate about your work, although the org works to prioritize work/life balance.

Great place to gain experience; good cause

Pros

I'm a volunteer at Grid. When I started, I knew they had a great mission - to install solar panels on houses for low-income families. What I didn't realize is that their other mission - job training - may be even more important. It is a great place to gain hands-on experience if you are interested in working at any level of the solar industry, and especially if you want to work as an installer.

Cons

Grid deals with so many new volunteers constantly that they can be a bit inconsiderate of volunteers' time and dedication.

Culture is fast-paced, innovative, and fun. People care about the work and each other.

Cons

Company is still growing so not a place to work if you prefer structured/established work environments.
