Pros

GSK has always had an excellent name in the pharmaceutical area. During the time that I was there, it was wonderful except for the last year. Prior to that I became upward on my experience, After starting my job as a Group Leader in Clinical Pharmacology. Assistant Director and Section Head in Clinical Pharmacology Outsourcing and my International Medical Outsourcing. The next steps were Senior Clinical Assistant Pharmacokineticist, Section Head and finally Director, Clinical Pharmacology.

Cons

As another company took over, GlaxoSmithKline became a company that did not have the sense to understand the need for keeping a good experience. After several years I decided to get out of the company and I wasn't the only one. After I left I came back to visit my colleagues. The feeling was not getting support from the executives that used to visit with lower colleagues.

Pros

Great company to work for. British owned company seems to have different cultural behaviors compared to working for an American owned company. I enjoyed the 15 years I worked there.

Cons

Senior management seemed to lack direction and focus on delivering. British culture of 'nothing being good enough' and 'document the documentation'.
