While the benefits package is excellent, you may find yourself relying on it for the mental toll of working in such a chaotic environment.

Cons

This organization prioritizes corporate politics over sound strategy, which likely explains its ongoing decline. Before considering a position here, I strongly recommend reviewing the company’s financial health. Despite recent mass layoffs, they continue hiring—a clear red flag. Loved seeing EMT partying on a float. Surprised the board doesn’t look into this more.

Thank you for taking the time to mention our great Benefits. Our surveys show happy and content employees and like all jobs it can be stressful at times which is why we have mechanisms in place to assist & ensure our employees are working in a great environment. We are a Financial Institution that is a Not For Profit in excellent financial status with our community being our top priority. While some positions have been eliminated, we have added new positions that will benefit our employees and members. This will streamline our processes. Yes- our EMT is involved in local events including parades that show our love and admiration of our local community, and we sponsor and volunteer for many of these events.

Pros

One of the few companies that still value employees and work life balance. They continue to support hybrid work with just 1-2 days per week in the office as long as you are performing. Amazing benefits and excellent 401k, PTO, and Medical and Dental Plans that include Wellness.

Cons

Small company of only about 520 employees - so there is limited opportunity to advance or grow but that is the case in smaller companies. I would rather work in a smaller company and be appreciated than work in a huge company where " you can grow quickly and be let go just as quick!"

Thank you for taking the time to highlight the excellent, world class benefits GTE Financial provides its employees. Yes, what makes us extra special is the size and family atmosphere we provide. Though it may feel like there are limits to promotional opportunities, employees only have to be in a role for 6 months before they can apply for other positions making it a fast track to promotions.
