The "Culture" is questionable

Pros

Some very good people work for this credit union and as a not-for-profit organization they have potential.

Cons

Poor training, managers who do not belong in management positions, AVPs and VPs who are not qualified, and a lack of integrity and vision when it comes to sales. Talent sells you on their "culture" but CFC managers ignore it and do their own thing. Previous CEO was ineffective and new CEO has yet to prove himself.

Pros

GTE offers excellent benefits. They have an great gym at headquarters which has a wellness manager who will assist employees reach health goals at no cost. They are one of the highest paying CUs in Tampa Bay.

Cons

Where do I start... As part of the great benefits, GTE provides a good amount of paid time off but beware of actually taking the time you earned as management will scold you for doing so. Throughout the years, I've seen this company go through many different phases in its growth. What looked like a positive change has become a complete detractor for employees. GTE does a very good job in promoting a team culture but fall short in implementing such culture. Either executive management is completely oblivious to what's truly going on in the different departments or they just don't care. The culture seen in one department can be completely opposite in another. Only those chosen few who are considered part of the "in group" are furthered development, promoted, and are privileged to other perks most employees can't even imagine. Some leadership are completely worthless! They could care less about the employees and even create a hostile environment but nothing is eve done about it.

Pros

Decent pay, 401K match, gym reimbursement, many good staff members that are really focused on our members.

Cons

Unrealistic expectations, favoritism, workload is ridiculous, staffing not appropriate to deliver remarkable member experience.
