Pros

Remote and flexible work options, benefits are good, many long-tenured colleagues who are smart, skilled, and great to collaborate with.

Cons

What was once a great place to work has deteriorated so badly that it should be avoided entirely. Career growth opportunities are limited (unless you are part of a select social clique), raises are minimal, layoffs have been unpredictable, and the company’s long-term strategy lacks clarity. The work environment is toxic and unpredictable, for example, leadership instructed employees to refrain from setting out-of-office messages and they were expected to check emails during the holidays, completely disregarding any work-life balance. What was once a great place to work has unfortunately declined to the point where it should be avoided. Career growth opportunities are limited (unless you are part of a select social clique), raises are minimal, layoffs have been unpredictable, and the company’s long-term strategy lacks clarity. The work environment has become toxic and inconsistent; for example, leadership instructed employees not to set out-of-office messages and expected them to check emails during the holidays, showing little regard for work-life balance. Additionally, the HR team is disorganized and ineffective, eroding trust and morale across the organization.

Pros

Gainsight is the best working environment that I have ever been a part of. You never know what you are going to get when you join an early-stage tech company in Silicon Valley. Really though, if you look at any career page, they all say the same thing and highlights are always along the lines of "Significant equity! Flexible schedule! Work from home! Awesome swag! Free food! Pony rides!" But at Gainsight I honestly feel like the career page doesn't do the company justice, because it is hard to embody the culture and people through a few bullet points on a web page. I could write a lot about the benefits of working at Gainsight and still probably not hit them all, so I’ll just list a few here: 1. The CEO is the hardest worker in the company. He does it in a way that inspires you to do more, and doesn’t make you feel inferior or lazy for not working his crazy hours. 2. The culture is fun, but not too quirky. I could not be happier with the culture at Gainsight. No matter what you like, there is something for everyone. A perfect example of this is the tweet that the CEO literally posted hours ago: “AMAZING mashup of Star Wars and Biggie Smalls – like it was made for me!” I mean, if you don’t like Star Wars or Biggie Smalls, who are you?! 3. There is a lot of potential for personal growth and career advancement. The executives are amazing at Gainsight and everyone that works here is so smart and talented. I have been taught so much by so many people and learn something new every day. We are growing fast and there are always opportunities to prove yourself and get noticed for your hard work; promotions are available to those who prove themselves and want to take on more responsibility. 4. Gainsight is the obvious leader in a relatively new and exciting category. Gainsight is the clear leader in customer success technology, and I think you would be hard pressed to find someone in the community who feels differently. Customer success is a new idea for most people, and companies, which allows you to help shape an increasingly important role / industry / category. 5. Success for All. I think that this phrase defines Gainsight better than any other. Success for all is one of our core values and is embedded into everything we do. Managers and co-workers work with you to ensure you are successful, and everyone works towards goals to make the company successful, which helps investors have success. Finally, people from every department rally around our Customer Success team to guarantee customers are having success. The transparency of the executive team is very refreshing and allows each of us to celebrate the successes of the company and work together to overcome any setbacks that occur.

Cons

- Gainsight grows on you and makes it so you never want to leave. - You are never going to be the smartest or hardest working employee. If you need to be the all star that gets all of the recognition, Gainsight is not for you. This is the Dream Team not Kobe's Lakers...
