Pros

I've had a lot of different jobs over the years, and they've all tried to commit to being more ethical, employee-centric workplaces in one way or another. But Gainsight is the first to truly deliver on those promises in truly exceptional ways. Leadership has made it clear that they are invested in me as a person - not just as an employee. They want me to grow and succeed in my career, but they also want to make sure I have time for everything I do outside of the office. I feel seen as a human being in a way that I didn't know was possible in the workforce. Here are a few of the reasons why: random company days off called recharge days (in addition to unlimited PTO and holidays), a flexible schedule that lets me plan work around my life, and empathetic leadership that encourages me every step of the way. The CEO also really encourages a respectful culture that doesn't take itself too seriously, which is something I value immensely. My perspective could be skewed as someone that works almost exclusively with internal teammates and management, but I truly feel seen and welcome in my job.

Cons

No matching on 401(k) contributions, but I know HR is working on this. Also, I've noticed some folks in management working really intense hours (on recharge days and on PTO, etc., well beyond 40 hours). However, my caveat here is that I've never felt pressured to work insane overtime, and Gainsight is working against this culture of overworking. Recharge days still make a significant difference. From my perspective, I don't mind working odd hours sometimes when I'm receiving so much flexibility throughout the week, and exceeding 40 hours a week has been rare in my personal experience (and I'm given space to recover afterward).

Awesome input - and we need to always be mindful of leading by example around being balanced as leaders, so thanks for pointing that out!
