Pros

The company culture is in a league of its own with the golden rule, success for all, and childlike joy. Everyone is incredibly smart and passionate about the platform & customers. It is also growing an incredible pace. Unlimited PTO is the best, you can work from home, group training exercises with the company's trainer, and catered food 3 days out of the week

Cons

Lack of communication cross-functionally, many restructuring changes this past year which has made it difficult for some teams, lack of professional development for junior members at Gainsight. It can also be a highly stressful with hours worked.

Culture has significantly declined

Pros

I like my coworkers and my manager

Cons

-Mediocre pay raises (capped at 5% in 2024) after having promotions & raises delayed during the economic down turn. Very rare to get promotions, and leadership has explicitly stated that promotions will be rare. -Constant re-org in the past 2+ years. Several rounds of layoffs which has led to a lack of job security. Some layoffs were sudden, without the chance to say goodbye to longtime teammates. -New leaders are tasked with turning the company's sales attainment and profitability around, but they are often making decisions without fully understanding current processes and the "whys" behind current processes. They also are so sales/results oriented that people feel overlooked in the process. For example, with the new CRO, at least 3 teams that reported to the CRO were in "limbo" for a month, because the CRO did not know that these teams reported to her. -Culture has significantly declined. I have been at Gainsight for several years, and there was a time when I loved the company and would have written a glowing 5-star review. However, the culture has declined – Gainsight even redid their values statement in July 2024, which reframed all the values away from being human-first to being sales-first. -With the new leadership and declining culture, there has also been a significant decline in transparency and job autonomy. Decisions are made behind a closed door, and teammates that were usually consulted / informed are left out, which hinders their job performance and leads to miscommunication and redoing work. The lack of job autonomy is frustrating as well - teammates who have been here for years and earned respect in their capabilities are suddenly tossed aside due to "leadership making the important decisions". -Much of this change has been pushed by the parent company, Vista.

Pros

* Incredible people and culture. They absolutely live and breathe (from the top down) the values of being Human First while winning in business * Transparent leadership. Nick is probably one of the best human beings I've ever met, and the bar he sets trickles down to the rest of the org * Thought leadership is second to none. Gainsight leads the charge on the evolution of Customer Success. * Incredible opportunities at conferences to present, network with other leaders in the industry, and constant learning * Amazing people. Truly the best. * The industry and vision for Gainsight as a whole end to end customer journey solution is amazing with the suite of products CS, CE, CC, and PX.

Cons

* It feels like we're having a bit of an identity crisis with the acquisitions. It's new for us to have this many products so finding our footing in GTM and really having a solid plan for our Product is imperative. We're on the hunt for a critically needed CPO * Despite all of this, I still see us moving in the right direction. We literally wrote the book on CS - I'm certain we will start writing the next chapter on a multi product platform solution, it will just take time and it hurts 10x worse because we're in this economic crisis for SaaS companies. When our customers aren't doing well, naturally contracts decrease, vendor consolidation is very real, etc... but every single SaaS company is experiencing this today so we're not unique nor are we alone
