Pros

This company has an amazingly fun vibe and everyone is happy to be there. It's magical to see the transformation of the campers, and know you did your part. When I worked there we had 2 days of all-staff training where we would work with our camp site team and then work with others in our position. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to connect with others and really get hands on training.

Cons

You're exhausted by the end of the day, and the pay can be better.

Thank you for your review! We’re so glad to hear that you enjoyed working at camp and all-staff training. Camp days can certainly be long, and we find that staffers who tend to thrive at camp understand that inspiring young innovators is hard but rewarding work! As of 2018, we have also updated our summer pay scale to include salary increases across many camp positions and locations, including in the Bay Area. Staffers can also continue to expect overtime pay for any hours worked beyond 40/week. If you’d like more details or have further questions or thoughts, please reach out to us at outreach@galileo-learning.com.

Pros

I always felt supported and loved by everyone I encountered here at Galileo. They really know how to make you feel special while helping you grow more as a person. I came in as someone who was not all too confident and came out to a grown woman!

Cons

The pay is okay but should be higher since the hours are long and there is a lot of work to be done.

Pros

good pay including paid online training fun if you like working with elementary schoolers

Cons

super long hours-you have to stay until the camp is set up for the next day, so you could be there from 7:30am-6pm not enough breaks given extended care in the afternoon is terrible, you have to personally entertain a very small number of kids for up to 3 hours

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We’re glad to know you enjoyed our training experience as well as working with campers, and are sorry to hear that parts of your role felt challenging. We do our best to ensure position descriptions accurately reflect the tasks and expectations of all hired staff, and are always working to improve and streamline camp systems and operations to be even more supportive of camp staffers. We’d be happy to hear more specific thoughts you may have on how we can update existing position descriptions or camp logistics. Feel free to email us at outreach@galileo-learning.com.
