Pros

There are still some interesting projects that exist, though those are becoming fewer and farther between.

Cons

Culture/Work Life Balance: Everything you've read is true; If your last name doesn't match the CEOs, you're in for a tough time. I'd say about 1/3rd the company is related in some fashion. If you're non-family, it's insanely long hours for not a lot of thanks and even less pay. The work is not interesting enough as a whole to make it worth the sub-market pay & benefits, lack of upwards mobility, and general cult-like atmosphere. You're either in, or you're out. Don't worry, in the DC office, it seemed like half of the people left within 18 months of joining. Pay & Benefits: Laughably below market as benefits are atrocious. Company Strategy: I feel like it changed 6 times while I was there. A ship without a course.

Pros

A chance to work with some smart and innovative thinkers -- and with some very good clients. Still a strong brand name, with potential. Considerable freedom. Nice offices.

Cons

Absolutely no sense of corporate strategy. The family ownership controls everything, but makes knee-jerk decisions and has created a culture of fear. Mid-management is often far over their heads, and there's far too much turnover. Unwarranted arrogance in dealing with clients.

Pros

Get to meet some cool folks and have opportunities to meet awesome high profile folks

Cons

Management, management, management. Oh and ICE scores. I personally couldn't care less about your popularity tests, Gallup. I left high school many years ago.
