Pros

Riverfront view, walk, flexible hours, Health benefits. Technology learning, if you are interested.

Cons

This review is just for information of true inside picture to the world. Very few people have spoken about how green is the grass inside. 1. Rude Management (do not want to even listen you if you do not have dependency) 2. Back stabbing and politics. (Read more on that at the end.) 3.Lot of changes to culture, policies, strategies, without taking all employees into consideration. Only top level people like lead, architects would be involved and rest of the employees need to figure out what is changing or the way things are changing, 4. Management officially sent an email to all employees asking them to review company on Glass door really good. Probably this is the reason review score has reached to 4.3 from 3.1 or 3.2. And most of the reviews are from new comers, because they are told on the day of joining to do so. Nothing wrong in it, but no one spoke about it on Glassdoor, so I thought it is my ethical responsibility to share the truth. 4. If you do not have good equations with the favorites of management, then you are back stabbed, ousted for even non issue things. So play favorites, if you wanna be around or get promotions. 5. All authority is now with lead person. So your actual boss would be your lead and not the boss on the paper. If you do not lick your lead, no matter how great you are at your work, you will be 'kicked out' by creating issues against you. Your boss would not even verify if lead is telling the truth. I heard later from my ex colleague that bosses were instructed to do so by senior management. Very very toxic environment. 6. Lack of transparency. Recently job title structure is changed without letting people know. In fact when I interviewed for Gallup, my soon to be boss told me that WE ARE A VERY TRANSPARENT COMPANY. 7. Full of Nepotism: If you are somehow a relative of key players, you would even see that position would be created for you. But if you are not, almost no chances to get promoted, unless you start boot licking or sycophancy. 8. If you mention of slightest of an issue about lead or any one in the team to your boss, you are screwed. Within a month or two you would be sitting with your boss, with either a resignation letter or termination letter. You get witch hunted for doing this and things take turn this fast. 9. If the company is so great, why people leave and why do you keep hiring? In fact in my last on year at Gallup, I had 4 bosses changed and it gets very difficult to build relationships with changing bosses. Same is the case for most other employees. 10. If as a bottom employee, I can see these things, I still wonder why would management not see this or if they are choosing to pretend that they do not see it. 11. This company does not have reputation in technology at least. Because when I interviewed outside people My advise: So if you want to stay here, do all those things that would not get you fired or troubled but great quality in work.

I am sorry this was your experience at Gallup. I wished you would have shared your concerns with me before you left. Our technology team is growing and our turnover is very low. I am sorry you didn’t experience what the vast majority are experiencing -- a great organization working with a cutting edge technology stack, alongside incredibly talented and smart individuals. We believe in trust and transparency and we practice open and honest conversations on performance, quality and feedback. We hold our quality standards very high and work in a fast-paced, agile environment. It sounds like Gallup may not have been a great fit for you. We wish you the best in the future and hope you find a great organization where you can use your talents to shine.

Pros

Gallup has a data set incomparable in the business, which is a researchers dream. If you are interested in researching human behavior then you have an opportunity to leverage a truly unique set of data. The senior scientists are brilliant and wonderful to work. The clients are also very interesting and helping them solve their business issues is a good feeling fostering engagement.

Cons

The worst leadership and management I have ever seen a company possess. Meritocracy doesn't exist. Unless you are family, or related to the family, or did something 20 years ago to ingratiate yourself to the family, you are nothing and expendable. DC management is particularly wretched and emotionally draining.

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience here. It appears you had a pretty rough experience in the group you were working in. We are in the midst of many changes relative to our legacy polling and survey business and we are emerging from this significant disruption strongly. There is no doubt we are a very different company today than the one you joined 5 years ago. From my perspective, your experience is inconsistent with most people impacted by these changes. However, I am personally interested in hearing and learning specifics you have to share. Please call me at 402-938-6744 and ask to speak with me directly. --Matt

Pros

Gallup's brand is its number one differentiator. Many Consultants are intelligent people who believe in the brand and will do whatever it takes to close deals. Lots of autonomy in your role attracts a certain type of personality.

Cons

Burnout, burnout, and more burnout. Lack of diversity in the consulting side. Go-Tos have too much power over the trajectory of your career. Consulting position has ZERO work-life balance. You overwork yourself to make the Clifton family richer - they're billionaires! Go-Tos steal your ideas and pass them on to their favorite employees without giving you any credit. So many people left the company, it's embarrassing. They only care about selling their dogma in books and standard tools that have zero innovation. Company is based in Omaha, need I say more about having a small-town company culture that does not appreciate diversity. Way too Jim Jones-like for me.
