Pros

-Great benefits, including up to 12.5% 401k match and an ESPP -Depending on team, you get to work on interesting products and features -Surrounded by bright minded and motivated individuals -Good place to start your career and build a retirement nest egg -Incredible work life, balance while hybrid/remote, incredible manager, team and projects while I was there, If you don't mind on site

Cons

-Removed option for hybrid work without exceptions despite peak productivity during remote timeframe. Not pragmatic move by leadership. (reduced rating from 4.5 stars to 1 stars because of this). Morale has flatlined and it feels like people are going to quit and my team is going to fall apart soon, -Relatively flat company ladder. Financial appeal of working here declines when you reach senior unless you want a lifetime career here and are focused on building retirement. -Average base compensation compared to industry standards, most of compensation is in retirement.

Pros

Cool projects to work on Great benefits Job security

Cons

Management is completely tone deaf to what engineers/people actually want. They are removing the hybrid work schedule and reverting back to forced full time in office, with no sort of compensation for losing this huge benefit. Morale at the office has taken a huge hit because of this, not only because of the loss of WFH but also because management has been super shady with how they have gone about it, not disclosing information and lying to our faces about the reasons for this decision. On top of this the raises this year were basically non-existent, even for those who worked extremely hard and put in extra time to get things done on schedule. Management is basically giving all their employees a big middle finger, and saying if you don't like it then leave. Garmin has gone the way of every other big tech corporation, except for compensation, even through they claim to have small company values.
