Pros

- great work life balance - will get promoted just by hanging around long enough - extremely stable - no layoffs ever - really great people - passionate, kind, enjoyable to work with - good products that actually serve customers and aren’t evil (not a given in tech :) ) - company genuinely seems to care about keeping employees happy - everyone stay for forever

Cons

- mediocre pay with minimal opportunity for raises - hiring bar is low so there are lots of people who are bad at their jobs and who will be paid more than you and have a higher title simply because they’re older - said people create headaches and reduce opportunities to learn from others - location (far edge of Kansas suburbs, very far away from anywhere you want to be unless you are complete suburbanite) - astonishing lack of diversity. In my department of hundreds of people there was maybe one black person and very few women
