Pros

- Good benefits - Relaxed atmosphere - Hands-off management

Cons

- Pay low-to-mid end for KC metro, although getting better - Amentities on campus are pretty limited. Cafeteria is more expensive than eating out (and significantly lower quality) and workout facility is very limited

Great Benefits

Pros

Benefits (health insurance, 401K, stock purchase, etc) are top notch. Very reasonable work hours. I find the work interesting. Facilities are nice (most engineers work in 3 person offices, not cubicles).

Cons

Management does not necessarily do a great job of unifying teams across departments. This causes some odd interactions when working with other teams as they often have little concern for the things you are doing. The company is definitely organized around electrical engineers and selling hardware, so they are not as well setup to understand the needs of software development.
