Pros

Great culture of ownership. You are empowered to achieve results and have opportunity to connect your personal values, drivers and goals with what the role and Gartner environment can offer to achieve. Motivation and recognition is key to leadership and management style. Ultimate focus on personal development, individual skill/knowledge or group training. Career progression is open to many options, moves to management or different business division. Performance is recognized and rewarded based on meritocratic standards

Cons

I really enjoy working here. Perhaps one of the possible downsides is becoming too much used to Gartner way of thinking as there is always a new project, a new idea to work on and time can fly by fast! :) It is good to reflect every now and then to get a perspective from a different angle.

Pros

The company is very well run and the atmosphere is very positive - much more to like than dislike. It is a very professional sales organisation with a mature outlook. What Gartner chooses to do it typically does very well.

Cons

Very few - in common with many US based orgs, there is little power in the regions. A little regimented on occasions and tends to always follows its own rules even when they are patently the wrong thing to do. The Strategic Account Organisation is as yet definitely not the finished article.

Pros

Gartner is a collaborative, dynamic work environment, with some of the most intelligent and driven individuals you could hope to work with. No-one is successful at Gartner working as a 'one man band', you can utilise the resources and your colleagues and build your own win team! There is phenominal training, which demonstrates that Gartner invests heavily in the development of its associates

Cons

Gartner operates a matrix management structure, and as such there are dotted lines of responsibility that can cloud where the direction is coming from. This is something that is being addressed however, and there will always be overall control from the US where the company is headquartered
