Pros

Fantastic brand and people to work with. Real visibility into CIO level issues and drivers. Stimulating colleagues and access to SME research analysts.

Cons

Money, money, money. Gartner seemed to have lost touch from real world on pay packages and benefits - specially when it comes to Consulting. That's a real shame, because it keeps losing bright and experienced people despite having a strong pipeline.

Pros

High growth company with good prospects for future growth, nice mix of people, highly talented workforce

Cons

Very US centric, opportunities for career progression outside of the US can be limited but ultimately your development is down to you, you have to work harder to move forward than you would do in a UK based company

Pros

Gartner Consulting provides customised advice to make critical decisions on the application and business of technology. Experienced consultants give unbiased information, insight and advice to help the client gain competitive advantage in two main areas: the application of IT for business advantage, and the technology marketplace. Gartner currently employs a high level consulting team in the UK with vast industry experience. Its business development is supported by its impeccable quality and its experienced consultants. The projects are mainly to large accounts at the strategic level. Major accounts have a dedicated Account Executive who will support development of new opportunities.

Cons

Gartner Consulting tends to work at the business level of technology consulting. This means that they tend to be competing with body shops for high end technical work or alternatively with the management consultancy firms for technology related business work. This can lead to the business spreading itself too thin by trying to cover all bases rather than excelling at a few targeted areas that will add the most value. There is also a perception in the market that Gartner only does research and as such there is a challenge to spread the word about Gartner Consulting and its capabilities.
