      Company continues to change for the worse, executive management only focused on short term gains and selling the company

      Pros

      Benefits and salary still competitive for the most part. Some jobs are much better than others, just be aware of who you are reporting to and their managment style--some of the people at Gates are really good people.

      Cons

      Management style is thru intimidation and fear, of course this may vary by location. Lay offs and attrition over the last few years has really hurt the collective knowledge of the company. Management shows a lack of support and concern for the welfare of their employees. Advancement opportunities can be limited based on location and corporate politics.

      Plant manager was a back stabbing jerk

      Pros

      learned alot about what not to do if you want to keep employees happy

      Cons

      Upper management direction and bad decisons made. Hired a new VP who hired a new plant manager (egotistical jerk) who let go of good people and left after 6 months. The people he hired as replacements aslo left within 2 years.

      It was a great company - but is today not as good a corporation

      Pros

      some very fine people still there who really do care about the customer high quality products

      Cons

      field sales spread very thin, unrealistic expectations - customers feel neglected too many managers, directors, VPs - very top heavy very confusing management during a prolonged IPO phase (up, down, in and out)
