This company will live and die by it's laughable policies.
One policy dictates that in order for an absence/ tardy to be excused, you must notify them 24 hours in advance. So if you have kids, this is probably a bad fit for you. You are allowed 5 unexused absences in a rotating calendar year. This policy can, and will, be used to justify them giving you no raise for the year even if you are an otherwise great worker.
Another super great (sarcasm) policy is that there are no flex hours and any case of missing work, you must use your PTO. Sick? PTO. Doctor appointment? PTO. Kid sick? PTO. Parent-teacher conference? PTO. Once again, if you have kids and work here, don't ever plan on being able to go on vacation because your PTO will be gone.
When the COVID pandemic first hit and parents were notified that their children would not be going to school the next week, HR suggested that everyone with kids should take turns using their PTO and watch everyone else's kids.
The pay discrepancy at Gauthier is WILD. There is no rhyme or reason to it and a new person coming in with the right connections and yet no previous experience will be making the same as a person who has been there for a number of years.
Your pay (or lack thereof) will be justified by the fact that they have a workout room (not actually available 24/7 according to company policy), a nice lunch room, and air conditioning.
There is no upward mobility. Managers have been hired from outside the company without properly considering the talent that lies within. Workers have been told that they need to stay where they are because the company needs them there instead of allowing them to learn and grow.
You will not find diversity there.
The best advice that I can give for anyone working there is this: don't care. Investing too much of yourself in this company will leave you drained, frustrated, and feeling unfulfilled.
