      Co-workers are the only thing that will make this job slightly bearable

      95% of the lab assistance have a bachelors of science, yet the environmental staff gets paid more than us. They are deserving of this pay of course, but the lab assistants are also more than deserving. We have to deal with constant short staff, things change constantly, they expect you to keep updated on procedural changes outside of work despite this pitiful salary and expect you to bend over backwards with no reward.. If you're smart, you'll just take the sign on bonus and salary of the Janitors.. This position will not help you to advance in your field of study anyway, nobody has your back, stay away.

      There are none that I have seen.

      Benefits are terrible with the highest deductibles ever, management is the worst I have ever seen. Completely out of touch with the workforce. Director only comes out of his office to get food on pot luck days. Processes and procedures change every 10 minutes but you only find that out from emails you are not given the time to read. I had to train myself. Trainer was totally incompetent. Managers take excessive days off and are never any help when they are around. Constant micromanagement. Toxic work environment. Morale on the floor is abysmally low. Calls are non stop and never ending. You are also given additional work to do all the time with no additional pay. And the Cafe is far too high priced for low quality food which is all regulated to be healthy not tasty.
