Pros

Extremely supportive co-workers and management. Very organized orientation and training program. Great benefits. OK pay. Lots of freedom to prioritize tasks and increasing workload as you got more skilled at your job. Always made the lower members of the team feel like their contributions were invaluable.

Cons

Workload and independence depends on your project manager. Luckily mine was amazing and really allowed me to contribute to the study but I saw many coworkers being micromanaged by other PMs.

Pros

New CEO shows real promise. Left before he came onboard. Whole system needs restructuring and professional ethics instituted. Great employees and middle managers stuck in a toxic work environment specifically in marketing/PR Department.

Cons

Lack of industry knowledge at a basic level in marketing/advertising. CCO should be marketing director at best. Lacks leadership skills and integrity. High school atmosphere of leader pitting managers against each other. Team - and even directors and managers - are powerless to make their own decisions. Micro-management prohibits job fulfillment and very high turnover of the best and brightest is the result.

Information Technology - a once great IT innovator, is now stagnant

Pros

Great place to start your career and gain IT experience. You can find any aspect of IT here from project management to application/server support, to software programming. There are several well-staffed groups that are competent, do great work and have great attitudes.

Cons

IT is full of dead-weight, bloat and poor attitudes. The area is very rural so people with the appropriate skills are hard to find. IT recruiting seems non-existent and as a result under qualified people are hired. There seems to be a lack of vision or goals. The overall attitude is to just maintain the status quo - don't expect anybody to go above and beyond. There also seems to be hostility or a feeling of competition between a lot of teams. Nobody seems to realize that they all work for the same company. There are several layers of management that are so far removed from the work (reality), that often times poor decisions are made.
