Pros

Some what flexible with scheduling

Cons

Very unprofessional. They expect you to do a 3 person job in a span of 8 hours. Low staff. People come and go due to pay. No opportunity for growth. You get hired under a staffing agency and they tell you 6 months to become permanent but it’s a lie. They make you wait longer.

Pros

Each team might be different, but mine welcomed me with minimal lab experience outside of my biotech degree. Coworkers were nice - about half were from China, very knowledgeable and helpful, here on work visas to teach the locals. Repairs/maintenance/IT help was very prompt. Offices and labs were clean and we can request whatever is needed. Permanent employees get free lunch. Temp workers get free snacks/coffee/milk, plus whatever lunches (usually miso soup) are unclaimed after 4pm (might have changed to 5pm March 2025). Depending on the day's needs, you can arrive or leave early, or stay later for possible overtime if needed.

Cons

Sometimes communication could be better between teams. Coda Temp pay was $24/hr, and upgrading to full time lab tech would have taken at least 6 months (some workers had to wait over a year) and would have been $26/hr - not enough for me.
