      Great Benefits ... but the pays was so-so low for the San Francisco bay area

      Pros

      One of the best benefit package around, and really good people (staff) to work with. Most of the time the work is fast paced and interesting.

      Cons

      Lots of politics, favoritism, work comes first - personal life second. Always felt like there was a game being played by upper management, but even as a supervisor, I didn't get a copy of the rules. For being in the bay area, the pay doesn't really compensate for the cost of living, the nature of the work, and the stress one has to endure.

      Pros

      Excellent salary, benefits, and co-workers. The company is stable with many commercial and clinical products. There are so many opportunities to make an impact it is breathtaking.

      Cons

      There is so much work to do and so few resources with which to do it. Management seems to be changing and getting more political. Decisions seem to have more to do with profit than with good science, which is a disappointing change from the past.
