      Pros

      Some of the reasons to work for Genentech are the benefits and programs they have for employees. They have a formal commuting program with buses, shuttles, and pay for carpool options. In CIT, we are given the best resources including an iPhone, Mac laptops and access to new and innovative technologies (Google). The environment on campus is great and I enjoy working with people here.

      Cons

      I think that there should be more recognition and feedback on the job we do. Often times, you are not sure how you are doing with your customers and/or are formally rewarded.

      Pros

      All employees share the same ultimate goal: helping patients! Great science, access to the most innovative technologies and excellent benefits are other reasons to work for at Genentech. Work hard, play hard attitude. Genentech cares about its employees and patients (both those who can and who cannot afford our drugs). Also, the company cares about the communities we are located in and the whole world! This is evident through financial support that it gives through 'Access to Care' and 'Genentech Goes to Town' events, as well as through donation and volunteer time matching.

      Cons

      It's difficult to get promoted because people with higher education are willing to take lower responsibility jobs (ex. PhDs are happy to be 'just' senior research associates at Genentech)
