      Well resourced, trusted to drive projects, able to publish original research

      Cons

      Focus on publishing in top tier journals. Postdocs rarely hired into permanent positions (which is fine if you know this going into the program).

      Pros

      Coworkers are great and if you end up in a supportive department with a good manager you can move up fairly fast

      Cons

      If you end up with horrible managers which there seems to be more of over the years, you can find little to no support. Also decisions by these managers often hurt more then help the department

      Pros

      Science, commitment to improving patient outcomes with a focus on disease states with unmet needs. Hires brightest people.

      Cons

      New strategies to localize healthcare aren’t realistic. Culture plagued with cronyism and no accountability for diversity beyond middle management. Each transformation restructure disproportionately impacts minorities which has led to the lowest number of minorities ever. New flatter structure severely decreased opportunities for advancement.
