      Genentech continues to be a great place to work

      Pros

      Genentech is an innovative company that continues to attract very talented people. Patients are at the center of everything and this drives decision making. There is a focus on employee engagement with many great perks such as the gym, onsite car detailing, onsite dentist, onsite haircuts, laundry service, etc. The campus is gorgeous and a new environmentally friendly building is under construction.

      Cons

      Work-life balance can be challenging. Long hours particularly for people who have to conduct regular business with other countries (i.e., early morning meetings and/or late evening calls)

      It used to be the top 5 and now the top 100 to work for..go figure!

      benefits flexible hours low key, culture is still exist depending on the site you work at

      Cons

      cut cost, management is no longer there to support you. The ability to help or develop the individual is no longer exist. 'They throw you under the bus and let you die. It's all about cover the management "CYA' but they will take your job and make it theirs. No credits or appreciation, bonuses no longer exists, more layers than it should have been. NO development plans for employee or recognition for job well done.

      Good salary, decent drugs - good home office location (not in NJ)

      Cons

      Good old boys club and people who were some of the biggest liars and back-slappers were/are given promotions-these people are currently in place and conducting work outside of this job
