Pros

Good pay, good people benefits.

Cons

The most confusing company I have ever worked for, bound by process and compliance. Everything has an SOP- that is constantly being tweaked. Everyone is doing everyone else’s job. I’ve had 3 managers in 3 years and barely had any contact with any of them because they are all doing “projects” and doing anything but their job. Training is virtually non- existent and handled by unqualified peers who volunteer to be home based trainers and training assistants- taking them away from their hired role. . Projects are rolled out and again training is pushed on to peers who do not receive any training or true guidance themselves. I expect more from a company this size where is the training department? Our program was developed on the fly and is constantly being tweaked and usually not for the better with the patients we are being paid to support paying the price, with the focus on process instead of customer centered support for our patients. Maybe these drawbacks are due to the fact that Access Solutions is support staff and we technically are not bringing in the money like Sales is so the funding and support for our division is just not there.

Pros

Good Science, passionate people, great benefits, and a comfortable working environment. I worked with many talented colleagues in TA as well as Scientists

Cons

Since about 2016 the heavy hand of Roche really started to appear. Lots of"transformation" and they are by no means done. Long-tenured scientific leaders are leaving, many have already left as resources dwindled and focus changed eliminating jobs across the company. Do your research before joining and if that sounds promising then by all means this might be the company for you.

Pros

Coworkers are great, PUL's are attentive, benefits, work life balance(most of the time)

Cons

High risk but low reward, pay doesn't meet industry standards. Since the "Transformation" process where they axed at least 75 people, things have gone down hill. They "got rid of supervisors" to give technicians more process ownership. Well, they just changed their title to PUL and doubled or in some cases, tripled their work load. Some are responsible for multiple departments and over 30 people. I never get 1:1 meetings or responses to texts/emails because they're so dangerously over worked. A lot of the talent left when the transformation was announced. They received letters to inform them that their roles were being eliminated but were "invited" to apply for new roles. All while being expected to work the following 2 months with a smile knowing you're being cut and are not valued. Half the supes, many MANY technicians and 75% of managers, after giving 10-20+ years were just thrown away like trash while they build two new buildings and buy 250k dollar security robots that stay parked. All to " reduce societal cost" last time I checked, gene employees are members of society. They had families and mortgages. Anything to save a buck. Genentech doesn't care about society, nope...the Roche group only cares about money. Which is why they routinely cut employees and don't pay industry standards. As soon as I can I'm jumping ship. Ever since Roche bought us out it's become less and less human. They even fired long time respected HR members. HR presence since the transformation is abysmal. Genentech is going south fast. They don't care about people anymore. Individual managers or PULs might but this company is demanding more production for the same pay and less respect.
