Pros

there are tons of great people who work here who really want to do good work. they are kind and passionate and sincere.

Cons

really poor work/life balance: tons of pressure without adequate support. non-competitive salaries. incredibly high turnover. no institutional memory. people just get worked to the bone, and burn out and leave. there is little to no training, and this is just not sustainable.

Pros

I don't really have any.

Cons

The students are never at fault - even if you have a student who yells at you daily. Instead, they will tell you to talk to them, even after you tell your manager you feel really uncomfortable. Both myself and my Instructional Associate spent more of our time backing up and defending and getting our support staff to believe us than getting support. It was exhausting. The culture of GA is awful. There was a point in time on the general slack channel where there were divisive and very shocking comments being made about social causes that should not be had in a slack conversation. It was really uncomfortable and hostile place to feel comfortable having conversations.

Integrity and poor leadership

Pros

I’d love to discuss some pros such as some of the other instructors but the under competition and competitive atmosphere makes this pro into something more stressful. The people you think are helping you are so stuck on deceiving you to outshine you,

Cons

Take the last few posts for an example. They are fraudulent. Out of no where General Assembly has these perfect 5 star ratings which are nothing but misleading. ALL staff know their treatment and how poor management is, specifically staff that are not afraid to admit it.
