Pros

Very few compared to previous places I’ve been. They have a pension, which is rare, and a selling point, but you have to be with the company four years and they make wanting to stay very difficult. I guess in a way you kind of get to make up your own job but that’s really not fun when you feel like your work is unappreciated.

Cons

Management is very inexperienced and only focused on managing up, not down, so employees below are struggling. Processes are loose and very disjointed. Shocking for a company of this size. Different departments are so siloed that it makes getting simple tasks done very difficult and time-consuming as you have to figure out who owns which process where and then convince that part of the company that your question is worth spending time on. Fellow employees are bullies and don’t try to work as a team because they are used to the culture and management is not changing it.

Pros

Good schedule, 9/80. Pay is good. Opportunity to move around in company, not necessarily move up though. Benefits are excellent, except they don't offer the pension plan anymore. Great comaraderie with co-workers.

Cons

Company is privately owned, therefore nepotism is everywhere. Incompetent employees are protected because of this. A lot of bureaucracies, polictics and favortism. It's all about who you know and not making waves amonst management. Follow the chain of command, even if it's not the "right thing". Alot of people don't feel comfortable speaking up for wrong doings. Because it is a good job with good benefits, employees have learned to turn a blind eye, and hush their opinions.

Pros

Stable Decent benefits Every other Friday off

Cons

Management is afraid of change and innovation. The company has gotten process top heavy yet product failures still seem high. Capable engineers are shackled to generating data and false trade wins to satisfy the process and field problematic equipment that would have worked well if they had simply been allowed to do their job.
