Pros

Benefits and opportunities to move between organizations. Lots of diversity. Can find great mentors in almost every group to learn tricks of trade.

Cons

0utdated salary ranges and/or annual increase for the cost of living in the area after initial hire. Compressed salaries leads to talent loss/high attrition rates. Aeronautical Systems Affiliate: Work from home isn't encouraged so other compensation needs to be provided. Lags in process streamlining which can make a usual simple task drawn out and cumbersome. Work life balance is encouraged but seems to be an abstract idea vs putting into practice in some groups.

Pros

Cons

GA is what happens when consultants and seminars are considered viable solutions to actual experience. It’s kind of like a puzzle where almost all of the pieces are there but not actually connected. That connection would be people with actual experience doing tasks, creating or managing processes and people. Instead we have people without that experience attending webinars or asking a consulting firm how to do something they’ve never done before and executive management telling them to have a go at it. That approach can make sense with companies smaller than 5,000 people and you gotta wear multiple hats. We’re at 15,000 and this amateur business needs to stop.
