Pros

It's a big name ... but just another public firm that is morally vacuous and arguably rises to a level of fraud against gov't contracts.

Cons

From start to finish. You either surrender your own moral core and work-life balance and fall in line, or you leave. From their petty bifurcation of PTO so they don't have to be financially responsible to time off you've earned, to a 2-year cliff on 401K, the to "full flex" workweek which simply affords them the opportunity to make you work 60+ hrs on average ... the message is consistent. There is zero value in the worker, you are simply replaceable cattle.

Pros

Great company that has decent benefits, especially if you are working on one of their owned sites. Fairly Competitive Pay.

Cons

If you are a contractor working at other locations you miss out on a lot of benefits like catered lunches, workshops, bonus health benefits like in house massages, etc.

Pros

GDIT is a great place to work! We have a huge number of government contracts across federal, state and local projects, both civil and defense. The people I’ve worked with have almost universally been engaged with their work, very competent and highly motivated. During conversations with my managers, of which I’ve had several, all of them have expressed genuine interest in nurturing my career. The company’s response to COVID, both internally and in service of our customers, has been phenomenal: the company always favors employee health and safety in their decision making. I have also come to admire upper leadership, because they have made it a priority to retain employees, which is extremely beneficial for job security. I have weathered the pandemic working from home with no disruption to my pay, continuing to support customer missions that are meaningful to help the public. If you want to work in IT at a company that serves the government while caring for its employees’ wellbeing and long term success, you should definitely consider GDIT.

Cons

It largely depends on the customer you are working with. Each position you end up working in within the company feels like a new job, because you’ll have a different team, a different culture, a different mission and a different customer. Some customers are very forward leaning with their technology and their practices, while others need our help to rise above ossified and sometimes needlessly bureaucratic processes. On the bright side, our employees often have the freedom to internally transfer if they’re unhappy with where they are.
