      Lack of Leadership, Good old boy network, extremely poor employee morale

      used to be a great place to work; the only pros left in existence are the customers and the good coworkers that are left.

      Cons

      leadership looks out for themselves; employees feel all the pain; ethics are a thing of the past; good old boy network is strong for top 10% of employees.

      Thank you for your honest review. I am pleased to announce that we have been making big strides and changes towards improving our internal communications. Namely, we released a new, monthly internal publication specifically to deliver news from around the company and enhance communication between staff across the company. We understand that this is a vital part of keeping our community informed on the variety of programs and projects we all invest in and work towards; not to mention the importance of keeping you, the employee, informed about the future. Please keep an eye on your email inbox for these publications. Also, remember to check ConnectingPoint for daily news, which we have also sought to make more accessible. Finally, each of our employees deserves recognition. We recently held Employee Appreciation events in locations across the country.       Pros

      I have worked for five fortune 500 companies in my long career. General Dynamics is hands down the best of all of them. I am including American Express, CIGNA Healthplan, Motorola, Dial Corporation and several more. They take care of their employees with a close family atmosphere. GDMS offers a great culture, great work opportunities to grow your skills, better than market pay, and treat employees well. The talent that you work with is awesome. Super smart, dedicated, passionate people. The company has done a lot to improve over the past 4 years. They strive for a best place to work culture, career road maps, better than market pay and benefits, low turnover and outstanding leadership

      Cons

      This is a workplace with dedicated, hard working employees. A person will not fit in if they are a slacker and want to guide through their career. Work life balance is great - but there are times when everyone pitches in for the team. Overtime can be required and is necessary to accomplish goals at times. Here the leadership knows your name and cares. It is a great culture.

      Don't work in IT here, the CIO is completely corrupt

      Flexible hours - the 9/80 schedule was nice

      Cons

      Management is completely clueless. The CIO is a political hack, and claims to empower his staff and employees, but will never back them up to his peers or any other managers. Furthermore, the favoritism shown within IT is a morale-killer. While the work can be interesting at times, you always run the risk that another favored employee will end up with your job, relegating you to grunt work. Stay far away from IT at this company. It's not worth it.
